It's been a long time since there was any news, I updated the catalog to remove the items I am sold out of. I have a bunch of new stuff to add to the catalog I haven't had the time to do yet. That will hopefully be coming soon. I'm not sure where things stand with the label really. It's been so long, and the face of the underground noise scene has changed so much that I constantly jump from one side of the fence to other about whether the time, work and money that goes into releasing CD's is really the best use of my time, work and money. There are 1000 and 1 labels and even more projects out there, and the question of "do I want to spend $1000 + dollars to release something, or $11 when someone elses releases it?" seems a relevant one.
So I don't know if Crionic Mind will release CD's again, if I had something cross my desk that I was actually blown away by that might help, but even then the liklihood that someone else would release it anyway and I could just buy it then is real. I will continue to operate the catalog, and work on my own music projects. There are a lot of things I want to work on for myself that doing the label takes time away from and I'm feeling less and less like sacrificing my own projects for someone or something else is a a good use of my time. So that's the state of things right now for anyone wondering.
Bindrune Recordings, the Black/Doom Metal label I help, with has just released the new CD from BLOOD OF THE BLACK OWL. This is a side project of Chet Scott from RUHR HUNTER doing Ritualistic Blackened Doom, that draws influence from the likes of Darkthrone and Celtic Frost, but pulls it together in a very unique way by incorporating the ritualistic elements you have come to expect from Chet's work. I will have copies in a week or so, and it's available now from Bindrune. There are sound samples on the site as well.
For anyone that was interested in the Spookatorium podcast I have been doing, there are 11 episodes on line now. I may have to delete old ones from the server soon to make way for new ones, so if you haven't checked them out, now is the time. There is a button in the menu for the page, which is set up through http://spookatorium.blogspot.com, and if you want to subscribe to it, the feed URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/spookatorium . You do not need an iPod to listen to a podcast. It is basically just a long mp3, and can be listened to directly or downloaded.
