Greetings and welcome to the Crionic Mind website... Crionic Mind is a kettle for all my personal and creative interests. Here you will find information not only on Crionic Mind the record label and the complete distribution catalog, but also information on my personal musical endeavors, and those affiliated with the label. There is a section devoted to Worm Gear magazine which I have co-edited since it's inception, and Bindrune Recordings a Black Metal label I co-run. The Crionic Media section relates to my Graphic Design services. Finally, there is also a Message Board forum to check out. As always I appreciate your taking the time to look over our activities.

Once again it's been a long time since there was an update. There hasn't been a whole lot to report. The catalog is still open and operating, but no real news to report as far as the label goes. I have been working on a few things for myself, but I haven't had a studio set up since I finished "The Aberrant Laboratory" due to space restriction in my living space. That will change in a couple weeks and I will be able to get gear set up and start working again on something new.

I  haven't been idle though, one thing I have been working on is "Professor Gruntsplatter's Spookatorium." This is podcast I have mentioned before, but just launched a website for it as I have expanded the focus. It's up to episode 15 currently, the first 14 were just music, but with the most recent episode in addition to the music it now covers various tales of the strange and unusual. The website also features additional news stories not covered on the show. This first one in the new format was a learning experience, and it will definitely improve. So have a listen or check out the site if that sounds curious. I'm hoping to expand the website quite a bit as the show develops further.

The video to the right was forwarded to me the other day by a friend. It is a short film that uses a mash up of GRUNTSPLATTER tracks as the score. I had no idea about it, and don't know who made it, but was pretty pleased someone thought to use my music in that sense. So if anyone knows what the deal with this is, let me know. I would assume if it was someone I had had contact with they would have shown it to me themselves, but maybe not. Also if you make films yourself get in touch, score work is something I'd love to do.

It's been a long time since there was any news, I updated the catalog to remove the items I am sold out of. I have a bunch of new stuff to add to the catalog I haven't had the time to do yet. That will hopefully be coming soon. I'm not sure where things stand with the label really. It's been so long, and the face of the underground noise scene has changed so much that I constantly jump from one side of the fence to other about whether the time, work and money that goes into releasing CD's is really the best use of my time, work and money. There are 1000 and 1 labels and even more projects out there, and the question of "do I want to spend $1000 + dollars to release something, or $11 when someone elses releases it?" seems a relevant one.

So I don't know if Crionic Mind will release CD's again, if I had something cross my desk that I was actually blown away by that might help, but even then the liklihood that someone else would release it anyway and I could just buy it then is real. I will continue to operate the catalog, and work on my own music projects. There are a lot of things I want to work on for myself that doing the label takes time away from and I'm feeling less and less like sacrificing my own projects for someone or something else is a a good use of my time. So that's the state of things right now for anyone wondering.

Bindrune Recordings, the Black/Doom Metal label I help, with has just released the new CD from BLOOD OF THE BLACK OWL. This is a side project of Chet Scott from RUHR HUNTER doing Ritualistic Blackened Doom, that draws influence from the likes of Darkthrone and Celtic Frost, but pulls it together in a very unique way by incorporating the ritualistic elements you have come to expect from Chet's work. I will have copies in a week or so, and it's available now from Bindrune. There are sound samples on the site as well.

For anyone that was interested in the Spookatorium podcast I have been doing, there are 11 episodes on line now. I may have to delete old ones from the server soon to make way for new ones, so if you haven't checked them out, now is the time. There is a button in the menu for the page, which is set up through http://spookatorium.blogspot.com, and if you want to subscribe to it, the feed URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/spookatorium . You do not need an iPod to listen to a podcast. It is basically just a long mp3, and can be listened to directly or downloaded.

It's been a long time since I updated the site, and I still need to do some catalog updates and get all of that caught up. The new record has been getting really positive reactions from what I have seen thus far.

The main reason for the update now is to announce that I have started doing a podcast called Professor Gruntsplatter's Spookatorium. It's not strictly a noise/dark ambient show, it's quite diverse, and focus' basically on dark and strange music regardless of genre. Each episode is about an hour long, and and I just did the second installment. There is a button in the menu for the page, which is set up through http://spookatorium.blogspot.com, and if you want to subscribe to it the feed URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/spookatorium . You do not need an iPod to listen to a podcast. It is basically just a long mp3, and can be listened to directly or downloaded. If you subscribe so that it automatically downloads when there is an update, that is what makes it a podcast. There isn't a set schedule, but it's been fun so far to put together so I think I'll probably stay on top of it every week or two.

I guess that's about it for now... sorry things have been so still around here, and the catalog is a bit behind. Lot's of life stuff going on that will be behind me come early November. Thanks for checking the site, and check out the Spookatorium if you have a chance.
