Slowvent began recording seriously in the Spring of 1997 and functioned as an outlet for sole member Jonathan Lang to provide the soundtracks to his personal fantasies of chaos and the esoterric. By combining elements of of Death Industrial, Harsh/Noise Ambient, rhythmic undercurrents and pitch-shifted experimentation, he creates a powerful mix of both the abrasive and atmospheric. The sluggish soundscapes and low end distortions move like the grinding of tectonic plates... like boiling pitch, Slowvent generates thick, viscous, malleable visions of the obscure that gurgle and lick at something far deeper than your eardrums.

Slowvent's only release is a split CD with Gruntsplatter, although a track did appear on Volume 5 of the "Tapeheads" cassette compilation series (On Haltapes) previous to the release of the split CD. Other Compilation appearances include "The Depth of Beyond" double cassette compilation on Troniks and "Salvation Bloodletting" on Live Bait Recording Foundation

Slowvent has been terminated by Jonathan, we are proud to have been able to release these tracks.
