Abstract Spirit (Rus) - Liquid Dimensions Change CD (Doom-Metal.RU/Solitude Prod.)
Taken from the Solitude Productions site, "This is a side project of a black metal band Twilight is Mine from the suburbs of Moscow. Several musicians have been heard in a well known Moscowian funeral doom band Comatose Vigil. Those guys - Stellarghost (keys) and Hater (bass/guitars) began this project. Present Comatose Vigil vocalist took the vocal duties together with the drums in this project.
The first full length album “Liquid Dimensions Change” brings you six tracks with the total length of 60 minutes. This is classic funeral – doom like it was meant to be. Thin of the bands as: Shape of Despair, Coliseum and of course the main band of the participating musicians – Comatose Vigil. At the same time the music is very versatile. You will find very sludgy and muddy parts combined with some beautiful melodies. "

Anael (US) – From Arcane Fires CD (Paragon Records)
Regarding the band's new CD, guitarist/vocalist Seraphackh commented: "While its predecessor, 'On Wings Of Mercury', was a journey deep into the realm of the occult, 'From Arcane Fires' is a little more direct, more rooted in history and personal experiences of a gloomy reality. This means not only the lyrics but also the music of our third album, and it was the main reason to choose a harsh, dark and epic approach for this monument. It is aimed to show the darkness and the fire forming the foundation of our spirit and so of our music. And to set a sign that some flames will never be extinct." Taken from the Paragon Site

Ensepulchred (US) - The Night Our Rituals Blackened The Stars CD (Autopsy Kitchen Records)
"Perhaps some of the most melancholy and off the wall black metal we've heard around here in a while...this band originally assaulted us under the moniker The Blood of Transylvania with a handful of lengthy CD-R recordings to which we instantly took a liking to. We also got to thinking how this ghastly trio perfectly encapsulates that autumnal vibe and therefore we will unleash the Ensepulchred debut on Halloween 2006. Most notable of Ensepulchred influences would have to be early Manes though had Emperor had Xasthur as an influence back in the mid 90’s Ensepulchred would likely be the outcome." Taken from the Autopsy Kitchen site

Ganzmord Ganzmord (US) - Monolithic in Darkness CD (Antinomian)
Hateful and scathing black metal from the 1 man Ganzmord. A very raw production allows all instruments to be heard, but also injects this album with an ambient crust that is unsettling and disturbed. 9 well done and inventive tracks, including a cover of Darkthrone's "Transilvanian Hunger".
$11
Gauntlet’s Sword (Gre) - …And Night Became Darker, Wilder +Blasphemoon Demo as Bonus CD (Ewiges Eis Records)
Unique black metal, featuring well written melodies and a progressive style of playing. The guitar work is dissonant, but the tuning and overall tone gives every riff a very melodious aura. Vocally, the delivery sounds very desperate, much like the singer from Algaion 11 tracks... includes the Blasphemoon demo.
$11
Gauntlet’s Sword (Gre) - Theosophy CD (Ewiges Eis Records)

Glorior Belli (Fra) - Manifesting the Raging Beast CD (Southern Lord)
Hailing from France,...Glorior Belli came out from the dark in 2002. The first demo "Evil Archaic Order" was released in June 2004, followed by the first album "Ô Lavdate Dominvs" in May 2005. Despite their exquisitely filthy & brutal nature, their recordings emit a mesmerizing otherworldly resonance that cannot be denied. An ominous rumble & surge.....Always moving forward with various points of tension & terror!  Glorior Bellis' whole aesthetic has a strangely melodic bent that helps it to stand out from other black metal records. Somehow they manage to write bestial art that is ultra- catchy while at the same time being suffocatingly black & grim.  "Manifesting the Raging Beast" is their second full length album and first for their new label-coven: Southern Lord.   Members of Glorior Belli are also involved in  other projects such as: MERRIMACK, DISIPLIN, BLACK FLAME, WOLFE, and OBSCURUS ADVOCAM.

Goat Horns (UK) - Magician of Black Chaos MCD (Aphelion Prod)
Cryptic black metal raised on an ancient underground aesthetic that has more in common with the warring cult death metal bands of yesteryear than today's Darkthrone worshipers. Taken from the God Is Myth website, "Every once in awhile we get a promo in the mail from a band/artist that is so completely out of left field and stunning that we make plans right away to put out an album by said band/artist. This musical endeavour presents M.KOLOPHONIUM's attempt to bring Ambient, Noise and Chamber Music together in an all new relationship and the results come together with beautiful and original effect. Grimfaug (Bel) - Defloration of Life’s Essence CD (Eerie Art Records)
Taken from the Eerie Art Records website: "DESCRIPTION: Finally the long awaited Grimfaug's second opus is now available for all maniacs! "Defloration of life's essence" is a masterpiece of harsh black metal, a great improvement on their killer debut album. An evolved structure where there's time for archaic and mysterious midtempos between hateful blastbeats, where impressive cold riffs design mournful ambiances with sulphureous "melodies", where everything is supported by a superb songwriting that offer to whole album a misanthropic aura, primitive but majestic, as the monumental conclusive track "Apocalypse..." shows perfectly! A hellish sound, cold and evil riffs, thundering drums and evil distant vocals, this is "Defloration of life's essence".
$11
Grom / Sunwheel Split Grom (US) - Bestial Onslaught/Sunwheel (Pol) - Prophecies of the Aryan Moon - Split CD (Vinland Winds)
Mixing traditional black metal with more of an older and dirty metal vibe, Grom really have progressed into a very catchy pagan entity. Their 7 tracks are quite varied and well written as the band alternates between Celtic Frostisms and more of a blasting attack. Sunwheel possess more of an atmospheric aura which they expound upon with synth lines and more spacious riff ideas/production work. Add a Burzum cover to the mix (Det som Engang Var) and you close out Sunwheel's 3 tracks with a fitting wash of depression.

Beneath the banner of "heathen" black metal, the Belarus born Infestum impresses with melody dominant, yet grating BM that could easily lump them in with the middle era of Graveland (but not a clone) and others with similar musical affiliation in the Polish scene. A folk aura arises like smoke from the ancient ones funeral pyres with Celtic sounding melodies on "Instrumental", only to find this influence sunk even deeper within the dense distortion, battle sounds and overall feel of this self titled MCD. All of which made their rounds across the world to end up in the collections of the most die hard and adventurous music lovers and underground black metal fanatics. When we first heard "Forestheart" here at AKR our first thought was to immediately get this album on vinyl...and we wanted to be the one's to do it! Taking it a step further, we contacted Marblebog's sole creator and musician: Vorgrov, and set up a deal to finally make this album available on not just vinyl but a CD format that will be available to a much wider audience for the first time. We re-worked the entire layout so that the only thing that resembles the original pressing is the cover art which is as it should be in our opinion."
