Dire Mills is a collaborative project between Myself and Steve Rydz (Violent Grief). It’s something different for both of us. Guitar, bass, drum programming, electronics, and vocals. Each track takes its own path, making for a diverse listen that still feels cohesive.
Recorded from February 2024 to December 2025 in Portland and Nottingham in fits and starts, it started with talking about Big Black and Godflesh, and ended up somewhere else. Dire Mills weaves together influences from Industrial Metal, Noise Rock, and Post Punk, with experimental noise elements, into something neither one of us really knows quite how to describe. If any of you remember my project Cinder Skin from the mid 90’s, there is a little of that, but it’s not that either.
You can get it now from Phage Tapes on cassette or digital. I have a small handful of copies, and I’ll get it up on one of my own bandcamp pages as soon as I figure out which one.
